Event Details: 

1. CFLD field visit was made to Biofortified Maize hybrid (HQPM 5) crop at Boothipuram village of Bodi Block.

2. We have recorded vegetative growth parameters and performance of biofortified maize hybrid.

3. We have identified fall army worm incidence in maize. Recommended Emamectin benzoate 5 SG @ 0.4 g/L of water (about 80 g/acre).

Event Details: 

Organized DoT Weekly Meet on “Value Addition in Pepper”
• Handled a technical session on drudgery reducing implements, pepper processing methods, processing machinery, value addition techniques, safe storage methods and the preparation of value added pepper products from black, white and green pepper.
• Explained the health benefits, functional properties and nutraceutical potential of pepper, FSSAI registration, MSME registration, packaging, labelling, branding, and marketing strategies.
• Created awareness about World Food Day and International Day for the Eradication of Poverty and Sustainable Development Goals, highlighting the importance of poverty alleviation, livelihood promotion, inclusive growth and sustainable rural development

2. Lecture delivered on Integrated pest and disease management in Coconut.
3. ⁠Explained about nutrient management practices to the farmers.
4. ⁠Discussed about major issues faced by farmers and given remedies to the farmers.
5. ⁠Awareness talk on EL- nino effect on agriculture and drought resistant varieties.
6. ⁠Created an awareness on state and central government schemes.
7. ⁠Finally, we have distributed TNAU CoCoCon 5 Nos. farmers of Sadayalpatti village under the FLD programme.

1. Conducted On campus training on “ Assessment of masti Heal gel to control sub clinical mastitis in dairy Animals.
2. Lecture delivered on Mastitis its prevention and proper udder hygiene practices.
3. ⁠Explained the importance of proper treatment and management of mastitis in dairy animal practices to the farmers.
4. ⁠Awareness talk on EL- nino effect on livestock production .
5. ⁠Created an awareness on state and central government schemes.
6. ⁠Finally, we have distributed Masti Heal gel 10 Nos. farmers Veppampatty village under the FLD programme.

Event Details: 

Facilitated the participation of Mr. P. Saratha, a rural youth, Chinnamanur and Mrs. S. Ponmani, a farm woman, Chinnamanur in the International Day of Rural Women and Mahila Kisan Diwas programmes at All India Radio (AIR), Madurai, to share their success stories and achievements.
They shared their experiences and practical knowledge of scientific cultivation practices for betelvine and banana, as well as value-added betelvine products, highlighting their potential for income generation, rural entrepreneurship, and livelihood improvement.

Event Details: 

1. KVK Theni celebrated International Women Farmers’ Day on 15 October 2026in collaboration with the State Department of Agriculture to recognize and appreciate the significant contributions of women farmers and entrepreneurs to agriculture, allied activities and rural livelihood development.

2. Special addresses were delivered by Thiru Thanga Tamilselvan, Member of Parliament, Theni Constituency; Thiru Jeganath Misra, Member of the Legislative Assembly; and Thiru V. Sivakrishnamoorthy, IAS, District Collector, Theni District, highlighting women’s empowerment, entrepreneurship and their role in strengthening the agricultural sector.

3. Dr. P. Patchaimal, Chairman, CENDECT-KVK, delivered a special address and highlighted the major activities of KVK, including technology demonstrations, farmer training, skill development, capacity building and support for women farmers and rural entrepreneurs.

4. KVK Scientists delivered technical lectures on improved agricultural technologies, value addition, post-harvest management, entrepreneurship development.

5. Five outstanding women entrepreneurs and farm women received awards for their achievements and contributions.

6. Exhibitions, stalls, Kisan Mela, farmer–scientist interaction and technology demonstrations promoted knowledge sharing and women’s economic empowerment.

Event Details: 

Visited the Betel vine Ready to Serve (RTS) unit of Sri Sai Sakthi Food Products, Samiyar Madam, Sukkankalpatti Village, Chinnamanur Block to provide technical guidance and handholding support for obtaining quality certification.
• Provided advisories on the requirements and procedures for MSME ZED Gold Certification, emphasizing quality management, process improvement, nutrient analysis, packaging materials to ensure product quality, safety, shelf life and marketability.

Event Details: 

1. A follow-up visit was conducted to assess the reproductive performance and health status of the sow supplied under the SCSP scheme.
2. The sow farrowed a total of 7 piglets, comprising 4 males and 3 females.
3. The health status of the sow and newborn piglets was assessed during the visit.
4. The beneficiary was advised on proper feeding management for the lactating sow, adequate clean drinking water, colostrum feeding, maintaining warmth, and proper hygiene for the newborn piglets.

Event Details: 

1. Field visit was made to Citrus and Moringa crop at Errakottapatti Village, Chinnamanur Block.

2. We have identified the micronutrients deficiency problem in Citrus and flower drop problems in Moringa.

3. Recommended foliar application of fish amino acid and balanced nutrition with adequate boron and potassium.

Event Details: 

Facilitated the participation of Mrs. S. Sindhuja, a KVK-promoted woman entrepreneur from Cumbum, in a live programme at AIR, Madurai, to share her entrepreneurial success story.
She shared her practical experiences and knowledge of mushroom cultivation, mushroom spawn production techniques, value-added mushroom products and marketing strategies, highlighting opportunities for income generation, livelihood enhancement, and women’s entrepreneurship development.
