Organized DoT Weekly Meet – 5 (One Week One Tech) online programme on Tamil Nadu’s GI-Tagged Agricultural Products – Value Addition, Trademark and GI Authorization
• The Inaugural Address was given by Dr. P. Sivaram, Deputy Director, CENDECT, Theni. Presidential Address was given by Mrs. Shobana Kumar, Assistant General Manager & Regional Head, APEDA, Chennai, highlighted Export Promotion of Tamil Nadu’s GI Products and APEDA’s initiatives
• Mrs. N. Kumutha, Project Scientist-II, Patent Information Centre (PIC), TNSCST, Chennai, handled a technical session on GI Authorization and its importance and Mr. T. Siva, Project Scientist, PIC, TNSCST, Chennai, delivered a session on the Trademark Registration Process and Government Schemes.
• The programme also covered Tamil Nadu’s GI-tagged Agricultural and food products, value addition and the development of novel food products, highlighting opportunities for farmers and entrepreneurs.
