Event Details: 

• Conducted off campus training on Value Added products from Tomato under DAPSC at Eranampatti Village, Chinnamanur Block
• Provided an overview of the KVK mandated activities and facilities
• Handled a technical session on the importance of tomato processing and development of value-added products for reducing post-harvest losses and income generation
• Demonstrated tomato pickle, tomato powder, tomato vadagam, tomato rice powder and tomato soup mix
• Explained licensing, packaging, labelling, branding and marketing strategies for value-added tomato products
• Created an awareness on financial literacy, State and Central Government schemes by Mr.Velusamy and Mr.Srimurugan, Counsellors, FLCs, Canara Bank and Tamil Nadu Grama Bank, Theni
• Mrs. V. Sudha, KVK promoted woman entrepreneur, Seelayampatti Village, Theni Block shared her success story and experiences in developing and marketing value-added food products with the participants
