Organized skill training on Development of High value-added products from Grapes as part of FLD
• Inaugural address was given by Mr.P.Maheswaran, Program Co-ordinator (i/c) and highlighted the importance of KVK mandated activities for dissemination of latest Agricultural and allied technologies
• The program was presided over by Dr.P.Patchaimal, Chairman, KVK Theni
• Special addresses were given by Mr.C.Sankaranarayan, Assistant Director and Mr.Subramaniyan, SIC, DIC, Theni on various schemes and subsides of DIC.
• Technical Session on Post Harvest Management and Value Addition in Grapes was handled by Mrs.M.Ramyasivaselvi, SMS (Home Science), KVK Theni
• Highlighted the nutritional value, functional and nutraceutical potential of grapes and uses of grapes by products in food and cosmetic industries.
• Explained about recent grape processing machineries and its uses.
• Demonstrated grape pulp, grape RTSs, grape jam, grape jelly, dry grapes, grapes instant mix, grape pomace, grape skin powder, grape seed powder and explained seed oil extraction procedures.
• Success story on dry grapes production was shared by KVK promoted women entrepreneur Mrs.V.Rajani, Amutha Surabi Food Products, PC Patti, Theni
• Explained Branding, licensing, packaging, labelling and marketing procedures.
