1. Mr.P.Maheswaran, Programme Coordinator (i/c) welcomed the gathering and briefed KVK Mandated Activities.

2. Presidential address was givenby Dr.P.Sivaram, Deputy Director, CENDECT explained the various activities carried out by KVK during past years.

3.Mr.Y.Alagumuthu, President, Kamatchipuram Panchayat has delivered the special address and also shared the success stories of KVK.

Event Details:   

Diagnostic visit to Guava and Coconut field.
-Leaf spot and Anthracnose diseases was identified in Guava fruits.Coconut redpalm weevil affected in coconut palms. Suitable recommendations were given to the farmers.
-In lab lab field, YMV and pod borer incidence was identified and control measures given to the farmer.

1. Field diagnostic visit made chia seeds cultivation, root rot disease was identified and suitable recommendations were given to the farmers.
2. Discuss about organic cultivation methods.
3. Explained about nutrient management practices to the farmers.

Visit to FLD Maize field. Installation of pheromone trap and explain about their uses. Explained about important  pest in maize crop.  Observed pest incidence from demo plot. Identified the maize fall army worm incidence and  suitable recommendations were given to the farmers. Explained about nutrient management practices to the farmers.

Event Details:   

1. Conducted Off Campus training on "Recent trends in mango cultivation" to the farmers.
2. Lecture delivered on " Effective utilization of mango cultivation - Introduction, importance, off season production technology, types of different varieties, inputs and social impacts " to the farmers.
3. Also, we have elaborate on training and pruning techniques in old mango trees.
4. Finally, we have conducted quiz competition for among the farming community in T.Meenakshipuram village.

Exhibited KVK promoted entrepreneurs products i.e.beekeeping accessories, value added products from honey, hand rolled agarpatti from floral waste, handicrafts from banana fiber, teak wood and coconut shell during Gramodyog Vikas Yojana (GVY) Awareness Programme at Aspirational District and Distribution of Margin Money under Prime Miniter’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) organized by KVIC, Divisional Office, Madurai
