Off Campus Training on Value Addition in Spices

• Handled a technical session on Post Harvest Management and Value Addition in Spices, List of Spices under the purview of spices board, processing of Amchur, Tamarind Paste, Turmeric Powder, different Masala Powder, Masala Tea Powder, Spices Gulkand, Golden Milk techniques.
• Demonstration of Tamarind Processing, Packaging machineries & dehydration of spices.
• Explained licensing, branding, packaging, labelling, marketing strategies, state and central schemes for startups.
• Distributed training manual on Value Addition in Spices.

Diagnostic field visit

Location: Muthaiyan Chetti Patti, Bodi block, Theni District.

Event Details: 

1. Field visit was made to horticulture crops field viz., Coconut, Citrus, Moringa, Mango and Cashew crops at Muthiyan Chetti Patti village of Bodi block.
2. We have identified the Coconut rugose spiraling whitefly, Redpalm weevil and Rhinoceros beetle. Recommended Neem oil 2. 5 ml/litres of water for rugose spiraling whitefly management and bucket trap for Rhinoceros and Redpalm weevil management.
3. Citrus crop canker and die back disease incidence identified , recommended copper oxy chloride 2.5 g/ litre of water to control die back disease. Boradeux mixture 1% to control the canker disease.
4. ⁠Moringa nutrient management was given, Mango web worm pest identified and 3G Karisal was recommended to the farmers.
