Event Details: 

1. A field visit was made to demonstrate and assess various water-saving technologies at the farm level, including drip irrigation, rainwater harvesting structures.

2. The farmers were explained about the benefits of drip irrigation, including efficient water utilization, uniform application of water and fertilizers, reduced weed growth, improved crop growth and enhanced productivity.

3. An El Nino advisory was provided to the farmers, highlighting the possibility of irregular and deficient rainfall and its potential impact on agricultural activities.

1. A field visit was made to Integrated Farming System (IFS) farmer's field to assess the various farm enterprises and their integration for efficient utilization of farm resources and generation of additional income.

2. The farm pond were visited and the farmer was advised on proper pond management and utilization of farm pond water for supplemental irrigation.

3. The daisy chick rearing unit was also visited and guidance was provided on proper chick management, housing, feeding, sanitation, disease prevention and maintaining suitable environmental conditions for healthy growth.

4. The farmer was also provided with an El Nino advisory, emphasizing water conservation, farm pond utilization, efficient irrigation methods, moisture conservation and suitable crop and livestock management practices to minimize the impact of possible dry spells.

2. Explained about nutrient management practices to the farmers.

4. Awareness talk on EL-nino effect on agriculture and drought resistant varieties.

Event Details: 

1. A technical lecture on “Sustainable Soil Health Management Practices” was delivered to the farmers.

2. We have created awareness about the importance of maintaining soil health for sustainable agricultural production.

3. During the lecture, the importance of soil health and soil quality in improving crop productivity and sustaining agricultural ecosystems was explained.

4. Various practices for maintaining and improving soil health, including balanced and judicious use of fertilizers, integrated nutrient management, application of organic manures and compost, incorporation of crop residues, use of biofertilizers, crop rotation, cover crops and conservation of soil moisture were discussed.

1. Conducted an off-campus training programme on “Feeding Management of Dairy Animals”.
2. The training programme focused on scientific feeding management practices for dairy animals. The participants were advised on the importance of balanced feeding, proper green and dry fodder management, concentrate feeding and adequate drinking water for maintaining animal health and productivity.
3. The importance of mineral mixture supplementation and proper feeding practices for improving milk production, reproductive performance and overall health of dairy animals was discussed with the participants.
4. Awareness was created on the importance of adopting cost-effective and locally available feed resources for profitable dairy farming.
5.Awareness was also created on the impact of El Niño and its effects on agriculture and livestock production.

1. As part of the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign, a cleanliness drive was organized at the KVK Premises.

2. During the activity, the KVK campus was thoroughly cleaned, including the office surroundings, pathways, garden premises and other common areas.

3. Unwanted weeds, dry leaves, plastic waste and other litter were removed and properly disposed of.

1. KVK Theni was organised the Ashirwad ka Diya programme at KVK premises.

2. As part of the programme, a Diya was lit at the KVK premises at 7:00 PM with the participation of KVK staff. The activity was organized to promote collective participation, positivity and a sense of unity among the farming and rural community.

3. We have communicated the initiative to farmers, rural youth and women farmers and mobilized them to participate by lighting a Diya at their respective houses at 7:00 PM.

Event Details: 

1. As part of the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign, a Swachhata pledge-taking programme was organized at KVK premises.

2. The programme was conducted with the participation of the KVK staff members. The participants collectively took the Swachhata pledge, reaffirming their commitment towards cleanliness, hygiene, sanitation and maintaining a clean and healthy environment.

Event Details: 

1. A technical lecture was delivered on “Vermicompost Production Technology” to the college students.

2. The session covered the importance and benefits of vermicompost as an eco-friendly organic manure for sustainable agriculture.

3. Explained about the selection of suitable earthworm species, preparation of vermicompost beds, raw materials required, moisture and temperature management, feeding methods, harvesting, storage and quality characteristics of vermicompost.
