Off campus training on “INM in Banana”
Event Details:
1. Conducted off campus training on "INM in Banana" to the farmers.
2. We have given lecture on integrated nutrient management practices, application of vermicompost, green manuring practices, recycling of farm waste, composting technologies and usage of biofertilizers to the farmers.
3. Explained about fertigation techniques and split application of fertilizers, nutrient deficiency symptoms and corrective measures.
Entrepreneurs Meet
Event Details:
Monthly Entrepreneurs Meet was organized to provide continuous technical guidance and handholding support for promoting organic farming and agri-entrepreneurship.
Technical session was conducted focusing on Post-Harvest Management and Value Addition Technologies in agriculture and horticultural crops.
Hybrid Solar Dryer was demonstrated, showcasing its application in producing dehydrated products. An exhibition of entrepreneurs’ products was arranged to highlight innovations and market-ready agri-based goods.
Awareness Programme under DAPSC
Event Details:
Conducted an awareness programme on post-harvest management, value addition, farm waste management, entrepreneurship development and the importance of food and nutrition security.
Provided detailed explanations of various State and Central Government schemes.
Extension Activity
Event Details:
Participated in the Global Conference on Women in Agri-Food Systems (GCWAS) 2026, held from 12.03.2026 to 14.03.2026 at NASC, Pusa Campus, New Delhi.
As part of the programme, contributed to a poster presentation and showcased products developed by KVK-promoted FPO and women entrepreneurs at the designated stall.
On campus Training and OFT input distribution programme
Event Details:
1. Conducted On campus training on "IPDM in Vegetable " to the farmers at KVK.
2. Lecture delivered on Integrated pest and disease management in vegetable .
3. Discussed about major issues faced by farmers and given remedies to the farmers.
4. Finally, we have distributed Bacillus subtilis to the 5 farmers of Ettayarajapuram village under the OFT programme.
On campus Training
Event Details:
1. Conducted on campus training on "Recycling of farm waste for sustainable agriculture" to the farmers at Seminar hall, KVK.
2. We have explained about Types of Farm Waste (Crop residues, animal waste, kitchen waste, agro-industrial waste), Importance of Farm Waste Recycling, Compost Preparation Method, Vermicomposting Technology, Crop Residue Management Techniques and Economic benefits of recycling farm waste to the farmers.
3. As a part of this programme, we have distributed Vermibeds to the 10 farmers under the SCSP programme.
Training to Extension functionaries
Event Details:
1. Lecture delivered on Pest and Disease management in Paddy crop to the farmers of Ellapatty village.
2. Explained about Panchakavya, Fish amino acids, Jeevamirtham, Insect repellent ( 3G Karisal, Iynthilai Karisal) Bio control agents and Bio Pesticides uses and application methods.
3. Finally, we have discussed about major problems faced by the farmers and given suitable recommendations to the farmers.
Organic Farmers cum Entrepreneurs Meet
Event Details:
An Organic Farmers–cum–Entrepreneurs Meet was organized to provide continuous technical guidance and handholding support to promote organic farming and agri-entrepreneurs.
• The programme commenced with the inaugural address by Mr.P. Maheswaran, Program Coordinator (i/c), KVK Theni, who emphasized the importance of sustainable organic farming and capacity building for entrepreneurs.
• The presidential address was delivered by Mr. P. Chandra Kumar, Senior Regional Manager, Indian Overseas Bank (IOB), Dindigul Region, who highlighted the role of financial institutions in supporting organic farming enterprises and agribusiness development.
• Technical sessions were conducted by Subject Matter Specialists and the PA (Animal Science), focusing on improved organic farming practices, soil health management, value addition, livestock integration, and sustainable production technologies.
• A special Farmers–Scientist Interaction Session was organized to facilitate knowledge exchange, address field-level challenges, and suggest practical solutions for improving productivity and profitability.
• The programme also featured an exhibition showcasing value-added byproducts developed by the entrepreneurs
Skill Training on Pickles, Papad and Masala Powder
Event Details:
Conducted skill training on Pickles, Papad, and Masala Powder production to promote entrepreneurship development.
• Delivered a technical session covering preparation techniques, quality control, hygiene standards, and value addition methods.
• Demonstrated the preparation of Chaat Masala, Biryani Masala, Chicken Masala, Moringa Leaf Pickle and Banana Flower Pickle.
• Explained food licensing procedures (FSSAI), MSME-UDYAM, branding, packaging, labeling regulations, costing, marketing strategies, state and central schemes
