1. Field visit was made to Coconut crop at Thappugundu village of theni block.

2. We have identified micro nutrient deficiency problem, cultivation technology in Coconut farmers and suitable recommendations were given to the farmers.

3. Also, we have explained about bio control application methods and usage in Coconut crop.

* Conducted Off Campus Training Programme on recent technologies and protected cultivation of
Vegetable crops.
* Provided an overview of KVK mandated activities and the technical and supported services offered to farmers, Farm womens, Rural youth and Entrepreneurs.
* Delivered a technical session on Hitech cultivation of vegetable crops particularly in poly house cultivation under the organic production.
* Conducted method demonstrations on recent nursery seedling production of vegetable crops.
* Created awareness among farmers on precautionary measures to be followed during EI Nino conditions and distributed awareness leaflets.

Event Details: 

1. CFLD field visit was made to Biofortified Maize hybrid (HQPM 5) crop at Boothipuram village of Bodi Block.

2. We have recorded vegetative growth parameters and performance of biofortified maize hybrid.

3. We have identified fall army worm incidence in maize. Recommended Emamectin benzoate 5 SG @ 0.4 g/L of water (about 80 g/acre).

Event Details: 

1. Examined the health condition of dairy cattle and observed symptoms such as intense itching, rubbing against objects, patchy wool loss, scabs, thickened skin and treatment given by dairy cattle with Ivermectin injection (0.2 mg/kg, repeat after 14 days)
2. Enlightened the farmers about feeding of dairy with balanced concentrate feed, minerals and vitamins to correct nutritional deficiencies in dairy cattle

Event Details: 

• Organized DoT Meet on Development of Ready-to-Use (RtU) Complementary Foods
• The Presidential Address was given by Mrs.S.Revathi, District Programme Officer, ICDS, Theni
• Handled a technical session on development of low-cost RtU complementary food products of CFTRI, NIN, SAUs, health benefits, nutritional value, labelling and marketing strategies
• Created an awareness on World Breastfeeding Week (1–7 August), its theme, maternal and child health importance, growth monitoring chart, Recommended Dietary Allowance for lactating mothers and children, good health practices, balanced diet and the food pyramid.

Event Details: 

• Organized the monthly meeting of Lavoisier Collective Farming FPC meeting at Aranmanaipudur Village, Theni Block.
• Facilitated the financial assistance of ₹2.00 lakhs from the Department of Horticulture, Theni, for the FPG to develop value-added products from moringa.
• Discussed the business plan, development of novel moringa based products, selection of suitable packaging materials and marketing strategies.

Event Details: 

• Established market linkages with the Department of Horticulture Sales Outlet for promoting value-added agricultural and horticultural products.
• Mrs.K.Sasikala, HO, Horticulture Nursery, Periyakulam explained the functioning and marketing activities of the sales outlet.
• Mr.B.Krishnakumar, AHO, Horticulture Nursery, Periyakulam explained the farm's activities and briefed about the saplings and seedlings available at the nursery.
• A total of 45 food products and handicraft items were placed at the Government Horticulture Sales Outlet for marketing.

Event Details: 

1.Conducted a follow-up field visit to the SCSP beneficiary's pig-rearing unit at Kallapatti Village and assessed the health status, growth performance, and management practices of the piglets.

2.Observed that the piglets were healthy, active, and maintained under satisfactory housing conditions with adequate ventilation and proper hygiene.

3.Verified the feeding practices and advised the beneficiary to provide a balanced ration along with continuous access to clean drinking water.

4.Recommended timely deworming, vaccination, and regular health monitoring to ensure proper growth and prevent disease occurrence.

5.Advised the beneficiary to maintain proper sanitation, scientific waste disposal, and biosecurity measures within the pig unit.

6.Encouraged the beneficiary to maintain records of feeding, health care, body weight, and production for effective farm management.

7.Provided technical guidance on scientific pig-rearing practices to enhance productivity and improve farm income.
