1. Field visit was made to Coconut crop at Dharmapuri village of Chinnamanur block.

2. We have identified Rhinoceros beetle, Redpalm weevil and micro nutrient deficiency problem in Coconut and suitable recommendations were given to the farmers.

3. Also, we have explained about bio control application methods and usage in Coconut crop.

Event Details: 

1. Field visit was made to Jasmine, Brinjal, Coconut and flower crops at Kottur village of Chinnamanur block.

2. We have identified Jasmine bud worm, Brinjal Fruit borer, Coconut rhinoceros beetle incidence and suitable recommendations were given to the farmers.

3. Also, we have explained about bio control application methods and its uses

Event Details: 

As part of FLD on IIHR Arka High Humidity Storage Box, a follow-up visit was made to assess its effectiveness in extending the shelf life and maintaining the freshness of green leafy vegetables.
• The performance and benefits were documented and a success story was recorded highlighting the impact of the technology on reducing post-harvest losses and improving produce quality.

Event Details: 

Conducted a group meeting under the DAPSC programme at Eranampatti Village, Chinnamanur Block.
• Provided an overview of the mandated activities and services of KVK.
• Discussed the importance of the Integrated Farming System for enhancing farm productivity and sustainability.
• Explained various self-employment opportunities in agriculture and allied sectors.
• Created awareness on agripreneurship development activities and their role in generating income and ensuring sustainable livelihoods for rural households.

Event Details: 

Scientist visit was made to Annai Enterprises (Aasai Pickle Unit), KVK promoted enterprise at Ayyampatti Village, Chinnamanur Block.
• Technical guidance was provided on the formulation and standardization of GI tag cumbum panneer grape pomace pickle.
• Advisory support was given to select suitable packaging materials to enhance product quality, shelf life and marketability.

Event Details: 

1. Examined the health condition of dairy cattle and observed symptoms such as intense itching, rubbing against objects, patchy wool loss, scabs, thickened skin and treatment given to dairy cattle with Ivermectin injection (0.2 mg/kg, repeat after 14 days)
2. Enlightened the farmers about feeding of dairy with balanced concentrate feed, minerals and vitamins to correct nutritional deficiencies in dairy cattle

1. Organised awareness programme on Khet Bachao Abhiyan in collaboration with Department of Agriculture and ATMA at Sankarapuram, Varasunadu and Anaipatti villages of Theni District.

2. Explained about importance of balanced and judicious use of fertilizers, soil health cards, organic and natural farming practices.

3. Encouraged farmers to adopt eco-friendly agricultural practices such as vermicomposting and the use of biofertilizers including Azotobacter, and VAM.

4.Explained about the importance green manuring in improving soil fertility, reducing chemical fertilizer usage, and enhancing sustainable agricultural production.

3. Awareness was created on soil health management and water conservation techniques for sustainable agriculture.
